The purpose of this reflection paper is to demonstrate what I have learned about the principles and concepts of Assessment of Student Learning II (Authentic Assessment).

In making my profile I knew deep within me, that I will talk much about myself. I shared some thoughts and feelings on how do I live my life alone, with family and with friends. On what philosophy do I believe in and how do interact with someone whom I don’t know. On the second entry, an essay which was all about teaching as a profession, I confess to them how I really appreciated the call for teaching where you are a catalyst for a better change.

Regarding the journal entry, it is one of the easy ways to assess our learning in a certain topic. Getting thought and ideas in mind and putting it into writing will evaluate our own learning.  I’ve learned that authentic and alternative assessments are not the same but still another way of assessing student learning. The journal on Performance- Based Assessment talks about the activities of the students that provide insights on their thinking, reasoning and motivation. PBA has two aspects; it can assess the process as well as the product. On the last journal which is entitled  “My Concepts of Rubrics”, it really widen my perspective regarding other modes of assessing students learning, that you can still rate the students objectively through a rubric irrespective of its kind whether analytic or holistic.
